International Organizations
About This Course
This course aims to introduce students to the theoretical and political discussions surrounding the issues of international cooperation through the lenses of intergovernmental organizations (IOs). The course will seek to answer the following questions: Why do states cooperate and commit to international organizations? Why do some organizations succeed and some fail? Do international organizations even matter? If they do not matter, why do we have so many of them? If they matter, why can’t they fix international problems?
